We are a Firewise USA recognized neighborhood working to reduce wildfire risk. Our mission is to educate and empower homeowners to harden their homes, maintain defensible space, and support fuel reduction across Long Valley—bounded by Santa Lucia, Balboa, San Fernando and Graves Creek.

Home Hardening — what is it?

Seal gaps, install ember-resistant vents, cover eaves, and use Class A roofing to reduce ignition pathways.

Brush Clearance — where and how much

Maintain at least 100 ft (or to property line) of reduced vegetation; remove dead plants, prune low limbs, and clear roofs/gutters.

Defensible Space — how far

Create zones: 0–5 ft ember‑resistant, 5–30 ft lean/green, 30–100 ft reduced fuel. Space trees and shrubs away from structures.

Thin dense vegetation, remove ladder fuels, chip or green‑waste haul. Coordinate block‑by‑block for best results.
